Gail Giaramita, a Constitution Party candidate in the 1st U.S. Congressional District race, said America needs to “turn back to God” and adhere to the tenets of the U.S. Constitution.
In her DeSoto Times-Tribune editorial board interview, she opened her remarks with a prayer.
Giaramita previously ran for Mississippi State Representative as a Republican.
“We have storms coming,” Giaramita said. “If we don’t turn back to God quickly, we won’t have the foundation we need to face them.”
Giaramita called for less government intervention in the lives of ordinary Americans.
“The framing fathers envisioned we would be in control of our own lives and our money,” she said.
Giaramita said the nation will find disfavor if political leaders turn their backs on Israel.
“The minute we turn our backs on Israel, God will turn his back on America. I will always stand with Israel.”
Giaramita said she thinks churches, not the government, should be responsible for helping the nation’s poor.
A life-changing moment occurred when she and her husband were held up at gunpoint.
Giaramita, a nurse by profession, responded by working with Memphis Mayor AC Wharton and others on the 10-Point Coalition Team to combat gang violence.
“I went into the streets and into the schools to get children out of gangs,” she said.
Giaramita said she would bring that same sort of hands-on approach to solving the problems the country faces if elected.
It’s the people, “with God’s help” which will turn the nation around.
“We’ve got to start standing up for our freedom,” Giaramita said.

A Message from Gail

Dear Fellow Mississippians,

I want to thank you for having taken the time to visit my new blog.  From reading the Introduction you can see that I feel the current issues are all symptoms of a singular problem. I am very concerned that the symptoms and not the problem are the focus in politics right now.  As a Registered Nurse who worked several years in Oncology, I view America as a body with cancer and all of the issues we are concerned with are actually symptoms of a nation that has turned away from Holy God.

One can treat the symptoms but if that cancer is not addressed, treating the symptoms only will be disastrous.  We must address the real problem before it is too late. I believe the entire burden of restoring America according to the Word of God is on the Church. That truth is outlined in II Chronicles 7:14. God will respond to His remnant if we turn to Him in brokenness and repentance.

Having said all of that, I want you to know that I am a true conservative, very far to the right on all issues. All members of the United States Congress take an oath to uphold our Constitution, not redefine it, ignore it, add to, or subtract from it. If you take a look at the Constitution Party platform, it represents my views and reflects how I would vote on a bill as well as my guidelines for drafting a bill.

I believe our Constitution, penned by our founding fathers, calls for limited government. Unfortunately, the federal government has usurped authority from the states and the people. Our nation is fast approaching a financial collapse. We need a freeze on this out of control federal spending. We need tax cuts. Small business needs to be protected. Three years ago I ran for House Seat 25, Ms State Representative. I was endorsed by BIPEC, in part because I believe in small business and its important role in the economy.

I believe the federal government has failed in protecting our borders. According to our constitution protecting our borders is their responsibility. I do not believe that illegal immigrants should be afforded amnesty. People should enter our country legally, just as my ancestors did from Germany and Ireland.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me at gail@gailforcongress.com

I do encourage you to look at the Constitution Party platform as it reflects my beliefs and values.

 Please pray for our Nation.

 Sincerely, Gail Giaramita

Introduction

Candidate for U.S. House of Representatives, 1st District of Mississippi

“I pledge to base every decision, and cast every vote, according to the Word of God.”

Gail Giaramita believes that:

  • America has to stand with and bless Israel

“I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:2-3

  • Americans need to return to our Judeo Christian Foundation and Principles

“The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principals of Christianity… I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.”- John Adams

  • America does not have a political problem but rather a Spiritual problem

“As a nurse, I view America as a body with cancer; you can treat the symptoms but you have to address the cancer. We have turned away from our Holy God.”-Gail Giaramita RN

  • The burden of Restoring America is entirely on the Church

” If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” – II Chronicles 7:14
